Neti Pot
I've gone and done it, I bought myself a Neti Pot.
It is the grossest sensation I have ever experienced. I gag, sputter, and cry out.
But, IT WORKS!
I cannot believe how this helps me breathe. I'm convinced. Thomas and Bob watch and laugh as I use it. If I don't tilt my head just right, the water runs down my throat and I made horrid noises because I cannot stand the sensation. But did I mention, IT WORKS??!!!
My teeny, tiny town sold a product called SinuCleanse. It came with the pot and packets of salt and baking soda. I could make my own, but I needed the pot.
Now, if the pressure in my ear would only go away, I'd be very happy. My left ear has been plugged since about the 19th of June. Two rounds of antibiotics have not touched it. I'm going to have to call my doctor tomorrow.
But at least I can breathe. I'm sold on the weird Neti Pots.

I am sorry to hear your ear is still blocked..glad your Neti Pot is working.
Hope you are back to feeling well soon.
The ear would drive me batty. I can't stand to have my ears plugged for very long.
I've wondered about the neti pot myself but thus far I've not been brave enough to give it a go :)
I had never heard of a Neti Pot.
Maybe I ought to consider one, given how congested I have been this whole summer...My sinuses never feel relaxed!
Glad you are getting well, even if it is little by little!
Recently my doctor recommended Nasopure, a nasal irrigation system referred to as the modern neti. I have tried both the neti and Nasopure and have found Nasopure far superior. I dont have to bend and twist like the neti and Nasopure seems to give a much more effective flush because it uses self controlled pressure instead of gravity. The angled Nasopure bottle allows for you to stand straight up while using it. Also, the salt packets that come with the product is much cheaper and seems more effective than that of the neti. I use one salt packet for about a week in the shower with Nasopure while the neti uses atleast one packet per use. Their website www.nasopure.com is very informative too and compares different nose washes on the market.
I am now googling Neti Pot?
Oh yes. The Neti pot is one of our first items to get pulled out when someone's got a cold. Unfortunately the pot is out because T has a nasty cold right now.
I hope you're ear clears up, too. Feel better soon.
I have wondered about these myself. But I'm a chicken and afraid it will hurt, or I might gag and throw up, or my husband will see me and I'd never hear the end of it.
I seriously have to try this, though. It can't be THAT bad, right?
